Fieldtrips & Excursions

APS 2007 is offering conferees, and their guests, exciting opportunities to explore Hawai`i’s Big Island. The University of Hawai`i at Hilo has designed cultural and recreational tours that will showcase Hawai`i’s extraordinary diversity. Tours will be offered throughout the week of June 24-30, 2007. Full tour descriptions are available below.

All tours must meet minimum enrollment to be confirmed. Minimum number is posted under each tour.

15th American Physical Society Topical Conference on
Shock Compression of Condensed Matter

DESCRIPTION
The American Physical Society cordially invites you to exhibit and/or display your products at the 2007 APS Conference on the Shock Compression of Condensed Matter on Big Island of Hawai`i. We anticipate an attendance in excess of 300 delegates.

The conference hotel is situated on the Kohala coast, 30 miles north of Kona. The scientific focus of the Conference will be on fundamental and applied research topics related to shock wave compression of condensed matter. This multidisciplinary field of research encompasses areas of physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanics, geophysics, and planetary science, and applied mathematics.
LOGISTICS
Exhibitor space will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each approved exhibitor will be provided with the following:
(1) 6-foot table w/ covering
(2) chairs
(1) 220 electrical outlet
A listing in the conference program
Mention on the conference website with your logo & a link to your organization’s website

REQUIREMENTS
Exhibitors will be sent detailed information along with registration confirmation.
Booths must be set-up and manned for the following functions:
Poster Reception 1: Monday, 6/25/07; 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Poster Reception 2: Tuesday, 6/26/07; 7:30pm - 8:30pm
FEES:
Early Registration fee: $1000.00 (must register before March 31, 2007)
This fee covers 1 full conference registration for 1 associate with meal services including the opening reception, all conference refreshments, poster sessions, and the conference dinner.

Additional meal plans: $300.00
Additional meal plans for accompanying associates can be purchased optionally in order to receive meal tickets and entry into poster sessions. $300.00 includes the opening reception, all conference refreshments, poster receptions, and the conference dinner. Conference name badges are required to attend these functions which will be provided by the UH Hilo Conference Center.

Late Registration Penalty: $500.00 (after March 31, 2007)
CANCELLATIONS
Exhibitor Refunds:
3 months prior to conference date (by March 31, 2007): 75% refund
2 months prior to conference date (by April 30, 2007): 25% refund
Less than two months prior to conference date - no refund
All cancellation requests must be received in writing. Refunds will be processed within 4 weeks after the completion of the conference.
